A writer & her adolescent muse 
You might want to know that National Haiku Writing Month already exists, and is held every February (the shortest month of the year for the shortest genre of poetry). I created this event, also known as NaHaiWriMo, in 2010. Please visit the NaHaiWriMo website at https://sites.google.com/site/nahaiwrimo/home. We also have a VERY active Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/NaHaiWriMo/108107262587697 (or just search for “NaHaiWriMo” on Facebook), with a daily writing prompt that has continued to be provided year-round (although February is still the official month). Sorry to say that February is National Haiku Writing Month, not June. But of course, I hope you continue to enjoy writing haiku at any time of the year!
