(Three Ways To) Keep That Story Going!

Okay, you started on a new story.  What can you do to keep it going?

1. Set a daily word count until the story is completed (at least for the first draft).

2. If that doesn’t work, what about setting a set amount of time to work on it for each day?  30 minutes?  Or even 15 minutes each day is better than nothing!

3. Okay, you’re a busy person.  You have a full-time job plus you’re a parent and so on and so forth.  It’s almost impossible to write every day.  So, now what?  Well, for me, I set a week’s goal of either 1,000 words or 45 minutes (minimal) so with a more flexible writing schedule it decreases the level of stress for me as a writer, and I find writing the story much more enjoyable.

How do you keep a story going?
