This month’s question: Which season sparks your imagination the most?
Each season provides inspiration, but one or two usually more so than the others.
Winter and Summer are usually the slowest times of the year for me as a writer. During the summer months I am busy with various outdoor projects while during Winter there are a multitude of indoor projects. Not to mention, baking all kinds of goodies!
When Spring finally arrives in the Northland (upper Northern Plains), it’s like a light switch suddenly turns on and the ideas start to flow.
Mostly in the form of poetry.
And of course, there’s National Poetry Writing Month in April.
When the colors of Fall arrive, a new set of inspiration fills my mind as I shift from writing poetry to writing short stories. And almost always throughout the month of October, I tend to write stories filled with frights and chills.
