This month’s question: It’s the best of times; it’s the worst of times. What are your writer highs (the good times)? And what are your writer lows (the crappy times)?
Writers who have been writing for any length of time know all too well about the crappy times which is why when the high finally comes – suddenly makes the crappy ones not so bad. 🙂
So, never give up! Keep writing through those low moments – better ones WILL come!
Back in April, I participated in a writing challenge hosted by WEP – the prompt was based on the iconic Bob Dylan’s song:
It’s a song I’ve heard countless of times but it wasn’t until this Challenge when I sat down and really listened to its message.
Then, I penned my poem – Tears in the Rain.
I focused on all the terrible things that have been taking place across the world – wars, natural disasters, crimes, losses, etc.
Truly, the worst of times.
A few days ago, I was notified that this poem was selected for 1st place! 🙂
This was definitely a HIGH point for me as this marked the first time I have ever won in any challenge or contest (though I have come close a number of times)!
I want to sincerely thank the wonderful team at WEP for this honor! Be sure to click below to read the other finalists’ entries!
