On many level, Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year.
It’s magical. The Christmas holiday always has that “magical” feel to it whether you’re a kid waiting to see what Santa will bring; or an adult who enjoys watching kids open their presents on Christmas morning.
It’s inspirational. Creativity seems to soar around this time of the year; and of course, I’m usually too busy to do anything about them right away so it’s nice to keep a notebook handy to jot ideas down.
It’s a time for remembering. The holidays, especially this year, have special connotations for me as they remind me of my Daddy. I have so many memories of him around Christmas. You never could tell who was the biggest kid: him, or me and my siblings. 🙂 He’s been gone for over two years now, and it still hurts to not have him here to spend it with us.
What about you? What makes this time of the year special for you?
I’m intentionally setting myself up to have a busy fall. For those who do not know, my daddy passed away on September 26th after an agonizing battle with lung disease. He was only 67 years young. This brought on the intense reality that life is indeed too short to waste; so, I have re-dedicated myself to my faith, my family, and my passion which is writing.
To start off, I will be participating in Jeff Goins’ 21-day Blogging Challenge which begins today. His first challenge is for us to update and improve our “about” page. He called this page the “most over-looked real estate” of one’s blog.
Do you agree/disagree with that?
Here’s my updated “about” page (or click on the about page above).
What about you? Are willing to take up Jeff’s challenge for your blog?
